School Council
Bloxham Grove Academy has a vibrant and dedicated School Council.
The School Council was democratically elected as part of our citizenship education. Each class group has a nominated representative as well as a deputy in case the Class Rep is absent. So far this year the School Council has been instrumental in raising the profile of our chosen school values, in making decisions about the academy’s school uniform and in arranging activities for the academy’s week long focus on positive mental health including organising for all members of the community to wear green to highlight mental health in schools. The School Council had the opportunity to see democracy in action when they interviewed Victoria Prentis (MP) when she visited the academy in April 2024.
Our priorities:
- Listen to all viewpoints and represent everyone in meetings
- Discuss the working of the academy and discuss with adults when things could be altered and improved
- Ensure students’ ideas about the academy are shared and discussed in meetings
