Transport

Many of our students are eligible for transport via Oxfordshire County Council.

There is a small number of children whose parents take care of their child’s transport to school and back.

If you think your child is eligible for transport with OCC please see their website for further information. Please note that any transport arrangements are made between parents and OCC rather than with the academy however we encourage you to contact us in the first instance about any concerns or problems with transport. Often we can support you with resolving any issues and we can pick up your concerns with OCC directly.

One of our fundamentals is to support our students with their growing independence:

Personal Development: we aim to give our students lots of opportunities to foster independence and to have workplace readiness including having effective social interactions and confident life skills

This includes encouraging them to be independent travellers. We aim to do this by ensuring they have opportunities to learn about safe walking in the local area, all students taking part in a cycling proficiency course and assisting students with local transport options such as how to use the buses.
