Attendance
At Bloxham Grove Academy we believe that good attendance and punctuality is vital in ensuring that our young people are not held back from opportunities to achieve great things. For students to be able to reach their full potential, we aim for them to maintain an individual attendance level of at least 95% and we will work with parents, carers and professionals to ensure that this is a reasonable and achievable target.
We are mindful of our students’ needs and take into account the challenges that individuals may face. Attendance is monitored regularly by the academy and shared with the local authority. We will keep families informed about their child’s attendance levels and will work alongside them to find solutions where attendance becomes a concern.
Reporting Absence
Our school day begins at 8.45am and ends: Monday to Thursday at 2.45pm and at 2pm on a Friday
We ask that parents/carers contact the academy to give a reason for each day that their son or daughter is absent. Please call 01295 793125 to report the absence before 9.15am when registration closes.
Attendance Concerns
If a student’s attendance drops below 95% we will make contact with families and follow a tiered approach of support. The following Attendance Procedure Flowchart outlines this approach.
If you would like to discuss any concerns or questions that you may have in regard to your child’s attendance, please contact our attendance lead: Fiona Morris via email: f.morris@bloxhamgroveacademy.co.uk or on 01295 793125
