Key Information about Bloxham Grove Academy

At Bloxham Grove Academy we aim to help all our students gain and develop the skills they need to thrive outside of school. This means helping them to live independently in the future when they are adults and to contribute positively to their community through the world of work. To do this we look at our students’ strengths and areas of individual need to create a supportive but challenging programme of study. At BGA we particularly value the skills learnt through a timetable which is heavily weighted towards art, PE, cooking and Learning Outside the Classroom. These four areas of the curriculum are designed to give students the opportunities to be have rich and purposeful learning experiences through exposure to our three fundamentals:

  1. Cultural Capital: we aim for our students to be exposed to the best that has been thought, said and created.  As such we aim for culture to be brought into the school as well as planning rich experiences to learn outside of the classroom
  1. Personal Development: we aim to give our students lots of opportunities to foster independence and to have workplace readiness including having effective social interactions and confident life skills
  1. Being Active and Healthy: we aim for our students to learn how to be active and healthy young people who are given lots of opportunities to learn in the outdoors
